Why does the TV-Film Society exist?

Our reason for being . . .

"Enabling You To Enter The Industry" . . .
It's more than just a catch phrase!

The purpose of the TV-Film Society is to create, foster and nurture an environment where CSUF students interested in television and film can feel free to network with each other and industry professionals! The Society accomplishes this purpose by providing fieldtrips to TV tapings, production houses and (sometimes) industry professionals' homes. The Society throws networking parties for our members. The Society hosts guest speakers once a month for our members (remember Wes Craven last year?) You had to be a TVFS member to attend a private reception in his honor. We hold workshops and seminars. Members occasionally attend special movie screenings or pilot tapings. We then top it all off with the TV-Film Society Awards (a college cross between the Oscars, the Emmys, the MTV awards, and People's Choice) in the spring!


TV-Film Society members help one another! Many TV-Film Society alumni have stayed in close contact and have helped each other find work. Joining the TV-Film Society hopes to help you establish many great contacts, as well as develop many important friendships.
